OAKS BARN POOLHOUSE

The new 6 x 12 metre pool house has full environmental controls, an acoustic ceiling, doors which slide back when open to give a completely unrestricted, open aspect, automatic rooflights and purpose made ‘mobile’ lights which bounce the light off coloured reflectors.

 

The walls were painted as an abstract by Philippa Dow.

The pool building is constructed of steel supporting columns with a wave design roof structure, timber weatherboarding, a slate roof and bespoke hardwood doors with a sliding mechanism capable of being operated by a very light touch.

 

This project received a Suffolk Association of Architects Craftsmanship Award in 2011.
