ROSE COTTAGE
The two storey timber frame and brick extension to a mid 19th century house incorporates a new kitchen, utility and shower room on the ground floor and two new bedrooms, shower room and a bathroom on the first floor. The hardwood conservatory has a black limestone floor and the kitchen has a Westmorland slate floor and worktops.
We refurbished the existing circular summerhouse and cellar beneath. This was followed by the construction of the new Studio and Greenhouse using reclaimed materials where possible. The garden was terraced and divided into a variety of outdoor rooms providing a riot of colour throughout spring and summer with autumn and winter flowering shrubs following on.
This project received a Commendation at the Georgian Group Awards Ceremony 2004 for the New Building in a Georgian Context category.
